Clinical Consultation for Agency Based Workers in the Context of Child Protection or Mental Health

Workers in child protection agencies as well as children’s mental health agencies at times struggle with formulating a workable formulation of the issues and/or developing a cohesive plan to address those issues. In the struggle to provide service, the presenting problems continue unabated or worse, intensify. Bluntly stated, this is referred to as being stuck. We want to be helpful, but what may be helpful is at times elusive to determine.

In the child protection area, this can give rise to multiple and expensive resources and solutions being misguidedly applied even if well intentioned. Ultimately, the risk is having to bring children into care, at times the result of lengthy and expensive court proceedings.

In children’s mental health, the concern is for the suffering that may continue unabated and the gradual (or not so gradual) decline of functioning that can lead to the destruction of not only the individual child, but the devastation of the entire family.

I am available to contract with agencies to provide consultation services in those cases where there is concern that a client may be better served if a new or fresh look at the situation was facilitated. Consultation services can be provided on a regular or as need basis.

If your agency and the people served may benefit from consultation services, please feel free to call to determine the approach best suited to the circumstances. Consultation services can be provided by distance through SKYPE.

Fee: $200.00 per hour, billing for actual time used.
